Göreme to Ürgüp by dolmuş

The Göreme–Ürgüp connection is one of the useful town-to-town journeys for visitors. It lets you visit Ürgüp independently rather than joining a full-day tour.

Use it for exploring the town, restaurants and nearby attractions, but check your return service before setting off, especially later in the day.

Göreme to Avanos by dolmuş

Services are generally more frequent during the day than in the evening, but there is no single timetable covering the whole Cappadocia region. Frequency varies by route and season.

The practical rule is simple: if you are travelling later in the day, check your return option before leaving your hotel town.

Can you use dolmuş for sightseeing?

Only to a point. Dolmuş is good for moving between towns, but many of Cappadocia's main attractions are located outside settlements or along hiking routes.

For example, a dolmuş can help you reach Uçhisar, but it will not replace the walking needed to explore Pigeon Valley. Likewise, reaching an underground city or Ihlara Valley usually requires different transport.
